Lucky!
I went to buy some speakers for my laptop today at Harvey Norman with Bradley. I thought it was time I change to some decent ones instead of those puny onboard speakers. I finally chose an Altec Lansing model VSS2221 after a brief demo by the salesperson. I was gleefully happy to get those as they're pretty good.
We then proceeded back home to test them but boy was it a bummer. The speakers which works marvelously a while back went kaput. No sound whatsoever. Frustrated after fiddling with it, Bradley drove me back to the store to have it replaced(Bless you Brad). Then the luckiest thing happened. The salesperson in charge said nothing can be done with the oddly disfunctional speakers. In return, he offered to give me a replacement.
Bradley and I were half joking about getting a higher priced Altec Lansings as the replacement when the salesperson said he could try to give me a bargain on those. Moments later, he said he'll replace it with those speakers without paying any extra. The broken ones were $99.50, the new ones are $139. Hahaha! Quite a bargain eh?
