Life's so sleepy,
with sunny days
and gentle breeze like this.

Thanks

Just got back from the Easter evening mass. They are not so many people this year. There's even some spare seats around to justify that. Saw Fenella and Chua too. This year's baptism candidates numbers only at 20. Its nice to see new faces in the church. Not that I'm an active church member or something. Even the music seems nice.
I too have my thanks to give this Easter. One is that I'm still able to go to an Easter mass amidst this growing fear of SARS and the uncertainty of the current economics. Two, that I'm healthy. But for all, even if you don't go to church or something, be grateful.

Be grateful for what you have, for what you are, for what situations you are. There's always others worse than yours.

A Piece of Friendship

Sorted out through my drawer today. Guess what I found. Yeah...old greeting cards dating to at least 6 years ago. I'm not a junk collector but still every of the cards meant something. That's why I still kept them. Ranging from Christmas cards, birthday cards, Chinese New Year cards etc etc..... Some from close friends, some from people I don't even see anymore. As I sort through them, I still find the words inscribed within touching. No matter how simple they are, how crude or how the cheap they are. I guess that while I might be having some storage issues, it's a small matter. Try to keep some of your greeting cards and open them back a few years later...you'll find that those words are still strong......

Faster Please!!

The researchers in the Michael Smith centre in Vancouver, Canada comfirmed their success in breaking the genome sequence of the SARS virus and has been giving positive response that a vaccine may be developed within 3 to 4weeks time. YEAH!!! Hopefully they'll get vaccine ready as soon as possible. This outbreak scare has been been negative to the economics and the morale of the people in affected countries. Please hurry!!!!

Rest is good

I woke up very refreshed today. Reasons being that I slept early last night. Sometimes its good to relax. ;). Anyway, its two weeks before the exam for me. Its getting rather uneasy here at home. Been playing too much games and less study. So I felt that I'd do some reading today....but not after surfing and blogging that is!!
Anyway my friend Jonathan has told me of the new Soul Calibur 2 arcade machines.Yeah!! I'm planning to check it out ASAP(but after all this SARS scare...I too have my doubts). In other news...Easter's coming up! But on Good Friday there won't be any personal dedication to the cross but rather a general one. This is done as a measure to curb the possibility of SARS...well at least here in my parish anyway.

4. Good and positive attitude. TV shows seems funnier when you're a kid, world seems more cheerful.

Lies and laziness

I went to to town with my parents today as all of us a registering our new ID cards, the new electronic ID cards. The new ID is a new thing introduced by the government so as to allow easier access to personal data on the move, banking and other stuff. Yes, it basically couples an ID card, a bank card, health insurance and information into one simple plastic card known as 'MyKad'. Personally I suspected that the registration office should be empty considering that we came rather early as opposed to the opening time. But that's the opposite, there was a lot of people there. Then when we ask the officer in charge, she meekly says that the fingerprint scanning machine has broken down, prompting us to come again in the afternoon. Ok, fine we thought. These thing do happen. But when we returned in the afternoon, the officer said that they won't accept registration in the afternoon as there's limited time before off work. She said that they would be busy doing the earlier registration. DAMN! What's all these crap!! Those officers are really slacking and unefficient. They should at least take our forms and will contact us in the future. Jeez....with all those people in town, will they even finish all of them???

Sexy Bikini Girls and Deja Vu Movie

Haha, its boring here at home...been wasting away time in front of the computer playing games. But time does fly quickly though...wonder why??
Been surfing the web and found out that there's going to be a movie based on the DOA games!! DOA or Dead Or Alive is a popular 3D fighting game that has spawn 3 titles over the Playstation, Playstation 2 and the X-BOX, in which the current one DOA 3 is a X-BOX exclusive. Its main attraction?? Cute girl characters with sexy bodies ;p Here's an excerpt from Yahoo News about it

The project, targeted for a fall 2004 release, is set up at Impact Pictures, which currently has video game-to-movie titles "Driver" and "Resident Evil 2" in the works.

The $30 million movie will focus on four female fighters from Japanese video game publisher Tecmo's franchise and stay within the realm of reality, unlike Impact's "Mortal Kombat" movie, which was based on a violent video game heavily draped in mythology and fantasy.

"I think the story ... is one that people will want to see even if it wasn't based on a video game. It's a fun popcorn film with action and humor," said Paul W.S. Anderson, who founded Impact with Jeremy Bolt and also directed the first "Mortal Kombat" film.

The PG-13 film will feature different environments on the island and introduce a cast of characters fluent in various martial arts styles. The movie will focus on a half-dozen characters from the game, but additional characters will appear in the background.

"The four voluptuous girls in the movie are invited by Fame Douglas to partake in the 'Dead or Alive' world fighting tournament on an exotic island," Bolt said. "Like we did with 'Resident Evil,' we will remain faithful to the essence of the game franchise but create an original story that will play to a broader audience."

There will be also beach volleyball sequences with "babes in bikinis," according to Anderson, as the movie license also includes Tecmo's current Xbox (news - web sites) best seller "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball," a spinoff of its fighting franchise.

No director has been named. Anderson, who also directed the original "Resident Evil," is not available because of his previous commitment for the other two Impact titles. Along with Bolt, he will serve as a producer. The "DOA" script is being written by J.F. Lawton ("Pretty Woman," "Under Siege").

The film's release date is expected to coincide with the video game release of "Dead or Alive 4." "Dead or Alive 3," an Xbox exclusive, has sold more than 1 million units worldwide, and the Mature-rated "Volleyball" spinoff is approaching sales of 500,000 worldwide, according to Tecmo marketing manager Tony Tarpey.

I hate it when it happens

ARGHHHH!! Just went to the computer shop to ask for the digital camera that I've booked two weeks earlier, and what news greets me?? The camera is out of stock and I'll have to wait until May for a new shipment. DAMN! Now I'm not blaming the computer shop people for the delay....rather I am frustrated to the fact that I cannot have something that I, for once can afford to buy. Sure is ironic. Its back to the waiting game I suppose.
Moving on to other matters, the SARS epidemic sure have frightened people here in Sabah. Sure there's no reported cases yet(Hopefully none if that is possible....) but nearly all are taking precautions. Chinese medicine shops are really having a field day in the sales of herbal medicine that is thought to at least somehow strengthen the immune system. My father also went to buy some of the medicine. He only bought around ten packs of the dried herbs( Which must be boiled for over 2 to 3 hours to become a bitter tea) but one man was noted of buying more than 100 packs!! The thing people do....But seriously, I do hope that a cure will be available soon.... the society seemed too afraid to do anything nowadays....

Clearing out the junk

My computer seems kinda cluttered these days. Some of the new files are unsorted and not named properly. Well, all this morning is spent on sorting all those things....but this is going to sort out thing for only a week or so. Then all is going to be scattered again....wish i have an external Hard Disk. The thing is I have all these unfinished manga scans and they do add up to the space not to mention that there's anime albums not complete yet. ....I guess I have to settle for these small drawback. Anyway, here's a screenshot of my current desktop...

KILLLLLLLLLL YER BELOVED Sims......!!!!

Saw this nice article on how to kill your Sims....that's pretty doody...Oh well..read on...

Deprivation

Our first murder MO is the most basic, but also the most torturous: simple deprivation. Lure some poor sap into a tiny room. Wall up the door. Sit back and watch the hilarity ensue over the course of the next three or four Sim days. Unable to properly sleep, eat, or socialize, the Sim will moan and wail, collapsing every so often from exhaustion before finally starving to death.

For added fun, trap your whole family in the kitchen with only a refrigerator. This'll take a bit longer than the solo version, but at least they'll die surrounded by filth. And the wailing is much more enjoyable coming from four or five people at once.

Drowning

Next comes drowning. Throw a pool party. While everyone is enjoying the cool water, go to buy mode and sell the ladder. Apparently, Sims have absolutely no upper body strength and are incapable of pulling themselves that scant foot to safety. Once again, they'll start complaining well before the inevitable ensues. There will also be much peeing in the pool. But if you are patient, eventually they will all die of exhaustion.

Fire

And last but far from least, the single easiest and most satisfying way to kill your Sims: fire. This one's almost too easy. Given half a chance, your Sims will burn themselves up without any help from you. In fact, while we were putting this poor sap through a slow trip to hell, the rest of the family took the express elevator in the kitchen.

But there are accidents, and then there's meticulously planned slaughter. Send an ignorant sap with no cooking skill out to grill up some vittles. Surround him with flammable obstacles, and put a rug under the grill for good measure. Surprisingly, even then it might take a couple tries, but it's still far quicker than waiting for your Sims to starve or drown.

And for a truly spectacular "kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" fun time, gather the family in the living room. Scatter rugs throughout the room. Then start up a cheery fireplace fire. Or, for a festive twist, have your Sims set off some fireworks inside. The room will become an instant fireball.

Electrocution

Here's a special Web-only killing method: electrocution. Now, to be totally honest, this one's a little random to be counted on as a good way to kill your Sim. You need two things to make it work: a broken appliance (the cheap TV works well), and a Sim with no mechanical skill. Sims with mechanical skill might get killed, but it's a lot less likely. Spill some water in front of the TV (if all else fails, keep a Sim there till they pee). Then have your unlucky sap try to fix the TV while standing in the puddle. Zap!

T'is The Day For Joy

WAHOOO!! Today is mighty fine for me!! Reason?? One; I have bought Grandia!!! You don't know how long I searched for the game. hahahaha now its gonna be gaming night!! Reason two is because my course syllabus for all the subjects I attend is complete. That means no more class until after the exam, which is well over 3 more weeks......That brings some sour part though. I got to revise my books soon. But nevermind that, as long as I'm not too tense, all shall be fine.
The digital camera that I booked should be arrving within this week time. I look forward to take pictures of stuffs in my life to post on the blog. Hahaha...just don't laugh at my mundane photography skills though.

PS:GANBATTE to Fenella who is going to matriculation programme tomorrow! ;)

Legend Always

Today came the shocking news of the suicide of Leslie Cheung Kwok Ying, the Hong Kong pop star. Apparently, Leslie commited suicide by jumping from the 6th floor of a five star hotel out of personal matters. He is one of my favourite star when I was a kid, growing up with his songs and movies. But can be said when one thing has happened. This just shows that while we have fame and wealth, there will always the test of life for us to bear....

Rest In Peace Leslie.
